A 65/35 poly-cotton twill is the most forgiving fabric in medical apparel: it takes commercial laundering repeatedly, holds colour, and costs less than every stretch option.
Poly-cotton is unfashionable and it is still the right answer for most hospital programmes. It survives high-temperature washing and industrial pressing far better than the stretch blends that dominate retail scrub brands, and it holds its colour through a wash cycle count that would leave a performance fabric visibly tired.
What you give up is stretch and drape. If your buyers are clinicians choosing their own garments, this will feel stiff next to a four-way blend. If you are running a uniform programme through a commercial laundry, it will outlast everything else on the list.
Poly-cotton is the value end of the range. If your team wants more give, stretch and four-way stretch sit above it, and cotton-rich sits alongside it where heat is the issue.
Exact fabric weight is quoted against the mill specification for your chosen colour, because weight shifts with dye and finish. Any supplier quoting one number for every colour is quoting an average.
