The first is grading by scaling a unisex block, which produces a garment that is nominally the right size and wrong everywhere it matters: shoulder, bust and hip do not move at the same rate.
The second is pocket sacrifice. Women’s styling frequently loses pocket depth to keep a line clean, and the person wearing it then carries their phone in their hand for twelve hours. Both are drafting decisions, and both are fixable.
Women’s blocks are graded separately from our men’s blocks and from unisex issue stock. Most programmes carry all three, and mixing them in one order is normal.
