When a short run is the right call, and when it is not

Short-run production costs more per unit than bulk, and it is worth it in exactly two situations: proving a design will sell before you commit, and serving demand too small or too seasonal to justify a full run. It is the wrong tool for a core line you already know sells.

What is included

What it gets you

Short runs use the same blocks and fabrics as bulk production, so a design that sells moves straight into private label or a full wholesale order without being re-sampled.

Is the quality lower on a short run?

No. The garment is the same block, the same fabric options and the same finishing as a bulk order. What changes is the unit price, because setup, artwork and handling are spread across fewer pieces. We will always tell you the volume at which moving to a full run becomes cheaper for you.

Price this against your own volumesCosts come back split into fabric, make, trims and branding, so you can see which line to push on rather than argue about one number.

What people ask about short runs

Short-run production answers a different question from bulk. These three come up every time.
