For buyers who specify natural fibre: breathable, comfortable in heat, heavier when wet, and slower to dry than every blend on this page.
Cotton breathes better than any synthetic blend and it is what a lot of clinicians ask for by name, particularly in hot climates and long shifts. It also creases, shrinks more, holds water, and takes longer to dry.
We will not pretend those trade-offs away. If natural fibre is a requirement, a cotton-rich blend usually gives you most of the comfort with materially better recovery and dimensional stability than one hundred percent cotton.
Cotton-rich is chosen for heat and breathability, and is the fabric veterinary practices ask for most often. Where shrinkage matters more than hand feel, poly-cotton is the alternative.
Exact fabric weight is quoted against the mill specification for your chosen colour, because weight shifts with dye and finish.
