Drawstring, elastic and cargo waists in straight-leg and tapered fits, graded XS to 5XL with petite and tall inseams, and reinforced where scrub pants actually give way.
Every one of those is a construction decision rather than a fabric one. Bar-tacking at pocket corners, a reinforced seat seam and a knee that is not sitting on a single line of stitching cost very little at production and roughly double the useful life of the garment.
The other thing wearers notice immediately is the waistband. A drawstring that disappears into the channel on the first wash, or an elastic that rolls, will get a garment quietly retired no matter how good the fabric is.
Pants come from the same fabric range as our scrub tops and are most often ordered as a matched scrub set, which is the only reliable way to guarantee top and bottom share a dye lot.
The row most catalogues leave out is the last one. Minimums apply per style and again per colourway, and the colourway number is the one that decides whether a multi-colour test is affordable.

Pants generate more complaints than any other scrub garment, and nearly all of them come down to three details nobody quotes on.
